Waning days of spring break

My Urdu-speaking friend is on vacation, so I missed an opportunity to have him read some material I’m starting on (a newspaper reader). He suggested I have him read such material into a tape recorder. Good idea. I’ll do it next week.

I’m reading a book of short stories for my Sp book club tonight. Some are OK, others are just too up-in-the-air for me. When I compare them to other stuff I’ve read, I think I would find the stories boring in English, too. I really look forward to these tertulias.

No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to get to my Circuit. I have books lined up and a kind of a schedule, but work keeps interfering. I’ve had this whole week off but have been unable to get to the Circuit b/c of household chores and family activities. It’s a good thing I’m able to get my exercising in, but that only takes about an hour. If I can work that in, why not, say, 15 minutes a day reading in 4 languages, then another 4 the next day. There’s about 8 I can profitably read in. Maybe that’s where I’ll start for the next 8 weeks……. then summer break!
