In order to keep the blog going, I’ll just mention here that last night I finished making lists of words in Manual of Modern Greek by Anne Farmakides that I missed on the second or third reading of the stories. With that, I’ve moved on to Greek Reader I by the same author. The first article is on how languages develop along with their civilizations. I’ll be interested to see if the writer repeats the same canards about “primitive” languages so common among the literati. Maybe I’ll be surprised, but one way or another I’ll learn more Greek.
