Just to keep in mind:
Just now my son-in-law needed a copy of Harry Wong. We have an independent bookstore, a holdover from the Hippie days, that has a good stock of education books. They had it. I considered a local trip. It was 30 miles round trip.
The temperature is 111.
Driving around that far in that heat (in my old age I have started using air conditioning in the car; I used to think it was a waste of gas) can sap you.
Not everyone is so affected. My dad lived in West Phoenix and never used refrigeration, even when it got to be 120. Just a fan. He said if he could survive the South Pacific in WW II, Phoenix’ famous dry heat couldn’t phase him. He lived to 90.
