Text-mapping, curriculum mapping, mind-mappingâ€¦â€¦. While I know these terms and have used the processes they refer to, I don’t feel I can give a definition off the top of my head. Also, I am not sure those are highly controversial terms or lacking in consensus, in part because they refer to actions rather than concepts.
The whole idea is to write these definitions off the top of our heads. In that way, we reveal our orientation to learning and teaching as well as to language itself. And in that way, we can begin to understand why we don’t always understand one another.
