Today I struck a blow for equality. The vice-principal wanted to make sure my second year Latin students were ready for third year with the other teacher. The explicit knowledge of grammar was stressed. I agreed to preparing the students for that but wondered why the other teacher was not asked to have her students read the stories, since reading stories is the heart not only of the textbook she is using now (CLC), but also of the one she is adopting (Ecce). He agreed. What effect that will have is at this point unknown.
