Integrating elements after laying the groundwork

I haven’t blogged much in this category. I am integrating several activities in Spanish after laying the groundwork in the first 9 weeks. I’ll give more details but suffice it to say that one student spontaneously said, “Hey, I’m actually learning Spanish!” as he wrote out a presentation (yes, I know it’s output, but I have my reasons for that even in first year).
In Latin, I’m starting my race through the book by reading over a story, then doing my own retell that the students copy into their notebooks and then use on a test the next day. I’ll report further on that as well once I’ve built up a track record.
