A quote from an 1854 report by British supercargoes [similar to a load master on a military aircraft] using/abusing “whom”:
“….their implements stolen and themselves beaten by parties who cannot be detected – but whom we believe to be instigated by Jew-Jew Peterside.”
Bear in mind that supercargoes were not well educated men.
