Who’s a Thug?

Richard Sherman engages in time-honored African-American braggadocio and gets called a thug but a Staten Island representative in Congress threatens a reporter’s life and it is called a “dust-up” by the news (as googled). Why don’t we look at the representative’s constituents (Staten Island and Brooklyn) and immediately label him a Mafia hoodlum? He’s from that neighborhood. But his skin color protects him, so we treat him with respect while we lump a Stanford grad with top-notch recommendations on his behavior in with gangsters, pimps, and drug dealers by called him a thug. The underlying racism of this country isn’t going away soon.
