The shallowness of conservative thought

NB: by conservative, I am referring only to the popular conservatism of the latter part of the 20th century and the early part of the 21st here in the U.S.
Conservatives cite Malcolm X as an example of the dangers of Black militancy, and ignore the point of his story: his redemption through Islam and acceptance of White Americans as his fellow man.
