Watching the audience reaction to Krashen, who is quite entertaining in his presentations, I find certain people just do not smile. The impression I get is not that they don’t understand his English all that well but they are being extremely serious. I see people like that in conferences and it seems they are thinking, “I am hear to get what I need to do my job or get my certification, I am not here for joking around or to be entertained. This is hard and I don’t have time for laughter.” Can you imagine the kind of class they teach?
