Every year the high school seniors marvel at how small the freshmen are. Apparently they haven’t looked at their own freshmen year photos in the yearbook. Should this trend continue as the seniors perceive it, within a decade or more their entire freshman block will disappear.
It is a wonderful example of this stupidity that gets passed around, that “nowadays” are so different from “the past”, i.e. when we were ten years old. I’ve mentioned before seeing a film put out by Ma Bell that posited we see the world through a lens shaped by the way things were when we were ten years old. By those lights, corporate and wealth tax rates should be around 90%. Go for it. Maybe at that rate, my son-in-law wouldn’t be so thrilled by having actual textbooks for his classes this year.
