Many years ago I presented at ACTFL and called it 30 Years of Black Culture in the Classroom. My main point was that the information I shared with them had been available for 30 years but teachers were still talking as if Black culture were a mystery. On p. 93 of Lies My Teacher Told Me I read that books on the findings that would allow textbook authors to represent accurately what happened in America have been on the shelves since 1970. That is exactly the time frame the books I presented in what was really a bibliographical presentation occupy.
