Over the years I have often asked people who make bigoted statements about Black people what the source of their sentiments is. After hemming and hawing about never seeing any Black doctors or professors or Presidents, it finally boils down to one of two:
I was just raised that way (accompanied by a sickly, shit-eatin’ grin)
or
I was jumped by five Black guys in fifth grade.
The peculiar thing is, it is always fifth grade, not fourth or sixth, and always five guys, not four or six. Strange.
I know you thought I was going to provide citations from sociological monographs and so on. No, just listening to bigots.
Oh, almost forgot: they don’t see color. Better watch out for them at traffic control lights.
