I had to deal with “teal”, the color of the pen she wanted to use to take notes. I had no idea what ‘teal’ looks like. The French is sarcelle.

She was amused that ‘small town’ is ‘ville de province.’

I had to look up ‘traffic light’ – feu.

I introduced the use of -la with ce, as in ces temps-la
