At this point Nyah has put in 64 hours of instruction. That is a bit over one third of an academic year. Ben Slavic says that spontaneous utterances start toward the end of the first year, so she is still a ways from that point. She is writing and is eager to read her first book, The Magic Tree House, a favorite when she was a little girl. It should be here within a day or two. I’ve previewed it and she should have no trouble reading it.
After that, we have a “spooky” story she wants.
Time constraints have prevented me from putting transcriptions of her lessons on this blog but next week things should open up.
