Two of the most conservative people you could imagine have emerged as heroes (heroines would emphasize that both are female and further emphasize that an abundance of heroes of the Resistance are female e.g. Phyllis Fong.) Intersestingly, while Liz Cheney represents many Americans’ notion of a “real American” a la Sarah Palin (=White, mountain states, conservative Republican lineage….), the others are of minority groups, one Jewish and one Asian, religious and ethnic.
Some might say it is remarkable: a heartland American, a Jewish super attorney, a career civil servant all defying Trump and Trumpers? No! They are super conservatives, not even Republicans but real, dyed-in-the-wool, old school Republicans. So Cheney, Sassoon, and Fong. Put THEIR pictures on the wall of your Civics classroom, not Trump’s.
